In this one-day course, you'll learn how to create a simulation with interactivity and a standalone e-Learning training project.

1. Captivate Overview

  • Demo of both completed Captivate simulations to be made in class

  • Captivate, simulation and e-Learning terminology

  • Good simulation practices

2. Before you fire up Captivate 

  • Plan your simulation (e.g., storyboard)
  • Resolution
  • Understand recording options and preferences 
    • New Project options
    • Recording Window
    • Recording Mode
    • Full Motion Recording
    • Change Recording Key
  • Tip and tricks before you film

3. Get to Know the Work Environment, Setup, and Film

  • Open Captivate 

  • Learn the work environment for easy navigation (e.g., Storyboard View)
  • Know pre-setup options before you film
  • Select the appropriate screen resolution for your audience
  • Understand the Menu Bar, Toolbar, Timeline, and Slides
  • Understand the uses of the different capture area selections (e.g., Full screen)
  • Prepare to film the simulation
  • Start and end the filming process
  • Describe how to save your project
